Purple Heart Family Support™ is an outreach program of MarineParents.com, Inc. that provides support and services to wounded and ill military service members and their families in the following ways:

• We serve hot meals weekly at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and twice a month at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. These gatherings allow families and wounded service members the opportunity to connect and share with each other and receive support from our volunteers.

• We distribute The Wounded Warrior Handbook and other helpful resources to families at the hospitals free of charge.

• Our volunteer mentors are available to families as they navigate the complex military healthcare system.

Purple Heart Family Support™ is run by volunteers who have a loved one in the service and a passion for providing the wounded and their families with the tools and information they need.

The Purple Heart Family Support™ Learning Center offers information pertaining to ill or injured service members so that no family feels overwhelmed during their time of need. Definitions of terms, procedures for notification, links to military hospitals, and even information regarding Invitational Travel Orders can be found here. The Learning Center can be the catalyst for Marine families to implement successful action plans in the event that their Marine is wounded in combat. They will have a better idea of what questions to ask and who to contact to receive as much information as possible.

Soon to come is the Marine Parents Purple Heart Journal. Many times while Marines are in the hospital, they are flooded with important medical information that needs to be catalogued, and receive aid from medical staff and family that needs to be documented. The already complete journal is a detailed wellness guide equipped to promote healing while also securing all medical information needed for later insurance purposes. The Purple Heart journal will become available once contributions needed to cover publishing and distributing are met.

If your family is currently coping with your ill or injured Marine, let Purple Heart Family Support™ be there for you. We can't heal your Wounded Warrior, but we can be there to support and listen to you.
